About marriedtoPDF

A free set of PDF tools that do the work on your device, not on a server.

Why it exists

Most free PDF websites upload your documents to their servers, process them there, and ask you to trust that the files are deleted afterwards. For contracts, IDs, medical records and anything else private, that is a lot to ask.

marriedtoPDF takes a different approach: the tools run in your browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your file is opened, changed and saved on your own machine. It is never sent anywhere.

How it works

  • You pick a tool and add a file. The file is read into your browser's memory.
  • The tool processes it locally — merging, splitting, converting and so on.
  • You download the result. Nothing was transmitted to marriedtoPDF or anyone else.

Because there is no server doing the work, the site can be hosted as static files very cheaply, which is part of how it stays free.

How it is funded

marriedtoPDF is free and supported by display advertising. Ads are kept out of the working area of each tool and never cause the page to jump around. A paid ad-free option may be added later.
